NWIC Saturday Science Academy heads to the beach this weekend
On Saturday, Oct. 22, the Northwest Indian College Saturday Science Academy invites high school students to explore the intertidal marine zone habitat and help improve beach health through cleanup with the Lummi Natural Resources Department.
Students will also tour the Marine Life Center in Bellingham to see live marine wildlife such as sea stars, sea urchins, octopus, crab and shellfish.
“Please encourage students that you know to sign up and attend,” said Nathanael Davis, director of the Science Academy.
Participants will meet at the Northwest Indian College’s Log Building at 10 a.m. and will at about 4 p.m. Please encourage students that you know to sign up and attend.
Saturday Science Academy is a quarterly series that provides hands-on learning experiences for high school native teens exploring various topics in science, technology, engineering and math.
